Gramma Nutt is a character in the Candy Land Universe and a major figure of the Candy Land board game series. Her associated location is the Peanut Brittle House.
History
In her original appearance, Gramma Nutt is described as "ever-hopeful" and lives in her Peanut Brittle House. She meets the Candy Land Kids on their mission to rescue King Kandy from Lord Licorice.[2][3][4][5] The Kids also help her solve a mystery when she wakes up to find large bites taken out of her house. They discover the culprit Lord Licorice, who is sentenced to restore and repaint her house by King Kandy. On his birthday, she brings King Kandy an enormous cake.[6]
Later, her home is renamed Peanut Acres. She can be seen gardening there with her pet dog Bazz.[7] Eventually she transitions to being called Nana Nutt.[8] Her home is then known as "Nana's Nutt House."[9]
Notes
- Gramma Nutt has appeared inconsistently since her introduction in 1984. The 2010 edition replaced her with a new character named Gramma Gooey, occupying Chocolate Mountain. Her traditional home and spot on the board was replaced by the Gingerbread House. They brought her back under the name "Nana Nutt" in 2013 & 2014. In the 2021 edition she is absent again, now replaced by the new character Duchess E. Claire who occupies Chocolate Falls.
